Blockout 📐
Construction Mode works by converting your blockout meshes to editable buildings. You have several options to create these basic shapes.
- Use an external modeling software
- Use Unreal’s modeling mode
- Merge together simple shapes in Unreal
Activate Construction Mode
Basic Configuration 🔧
Configuring the base parameters of your building (The parameters under ‘Create’ section) is the first step to create your buildings. These include floor height, roof type and other characteristics which can’t be modified afterwards.
Configuration Options
- GROUND FLOOR HEIGHT: The height of your ground floor measured in Unreal Engine units (cm).
- FLOOR HEIGHT: The height of your upper floors measured in Unreal Engine units (cm).
- CREATE INTERIOR: Whether to generate the floors and ceilings inside your building.
- CREATE HIP ROOF: Whether to generate flat or hip roof for your building.
- TILTED ROOF ANGLE: If you want to generate hip roof, you can adjust the angle here.

💡 You will place instances of modular assets to design the building. If you want the floor heights to match exactly with your modular assets, move the cursor on the asset and you’ll see the exact height. If you’re using one of the asset kits from the Scan&Eggs store, you’ll also see the height in the asset name.
